It’s with an enormous amount of pleasure that I present you the final TEAM.WORK collaboration of the year! This project was an extra special one as I got to work with not only a talented and savvy designer, but a great friend of mine. Natalie Newlands is the owner of cult Queenstown based store; Angel Divine – a super popular destination for design and fashion lovers both locally and on holiday. In 2011 Natalie drew on her extensive experience as a designer to launch her own label; New Lands in

I’ve become pretty attached to this project after following this gang of smart young architecture students and their process from conception, design, problem solving, model making and finally full scale set up! (click here to get the background on what I am talking about!) Last Friday they had access to the cavernous and white Flying Fish StudioΒ where for the first time they could assemble the final product of months of work. I was LOVING it!!! Throughout the day they had boyfriends, family and friends dropping by to help and have

To follow on from the first post and introduction of architecture student group; “Fifth” last month – I paid them another visit on Friday to check out their projects progress. (If it’s a total mystery as to what I am talking about I’d suggest you quickly refresh yourself with their work here.) They continued brainstorming, model making and sussing out how to “life size” their concept and then last week launched into the fabrication mode in the Auckland University’s Architecture School workshop. As you can see in the images below,

From left to right: Libby Morgan 23, Naomi Steele 20, Liz Acland 20, Sophie Boberg 21,Β Hana Greer 19. ……Β  I have wanted to include student work on Studio Home for agggeeessss and finally I have a cool series of posts lined up which follows an exciting and large scale project from that group of young second year Architecture students above! As part of the Auckland Heritage Festival, 28 groups of students at the Auckland School of Architecture have been challenged with a variety of projects around re igniting the suburb

Kelly Spencer is a Wellington based artist who I first started following after stumbling across her work two years ago. I continued to keep an eye on her projects that popped up on Facebook and was able to meet her in person when I covered her “fridge” painting for the Red Bull Pop Life event in Auckland last November. Β We definitely clicked so you can imagine my excitement when she got in touch and revealed she had her own Gold Coast adventure planned that coincided with mine! Despite us both

Ok, I hope you enjoy these peeks into what I am up to this week! I hate it when blogs turn from one thing to another and you suddenly think “how the hell did THAT happen? and why am I here?” (eg. design blog + pregnancy = baby blog = I’m outties) But bear with me and join me on this weeks break as I take a breather, suck up some new scenes and gather a whole bucket load of inspiration and juice to crank Studio Home up another notch
