'The Spring'

$120.00
Sold Out

Mineral clear water, filtered through clay, tickling the grassy banks and gently tumbling ancient stones along for the ride. Relentless and undeterred.

Think of this as your own wearable totem of good vibes. A personal treasure that is a standalone piece and handmade by me in my home up the Takamatua Valley on Banks Peninsula.
Every necklace I make is entirely unique and aimed a those that want a little colour and whimsy in their jewellery box (like I do).

I use pearls, stone, glass and ceramic beads mixed with any other interesting ones I can find!
The beaded portion of the necklace is approx 41 cm long with an additional 4.5 cm chain which allows you to play with the length. Nickel-free, silver plated hardware and tough tiger tail beading wire rounds it out.
(In the picture I am wearing the necklace at halfway down the chain. I don’t have a slender neck!)

I have no recipe when I play and mix the beads together, and there is no production line following a prescriptive order. You will see similar versions, but that is because I get obsessed with some of the colours, shapes and materials I’ve found. But each necklace will be different.
I like the contrast of small vs large shapes and an irregular rhythm to the necklace, straying from the uniform vibes of others you might see around. I definitely make each one with an eye on keeping it for myself.

Each necklace comes in a wee gingham pouch.
Please note there is a pick up option available from the Akaroa Butchery + Deli or a standard $10 postage and handling charge (no additional for my rural friends) and currently I am only shipping within NZ.
Multiple purchases will only incur the shipping charge once.

Treat your necklace as a handmade treasure.
While I wear mine everyday day, I recommend :
Avoid contact with water (eg. take the off before shower or swimming).
Take off before bed and while exercising (sweat may fade the hardware).
Perfume and moisturiser may affect the finish of the hardware and natural beads.
Treat with care - avoid tugging or bending at right angles.
